Overview

MH Litigation is dedicated to achieve the best result at the least cost and as quickly as possible.

The Litigation department has grown rapidly particularly in the areas of arbitration and ADR. It always had a strong reputation for excellence amongst the firm’s clients, but following rapid expansion is now attracting significant new clients to the firm.

Our experience and practice cover most commercial areas including banking, insolvency, corporate, arbitration and ADR, employment issues, media and intellectual property disputes (copyright, trade marks, patents, passing off), domain name and other Internet problems, breach of fiduciary duty, property disputes, fraud, asset tracing and all aspects of injunctions. Many disputes that we have dealt with also have an international/offshore element, often involving urgent and occasionally novel Court applications in England and abroad.

The Litigation team now includes two partners, Paul Howcroft and Peter Curnock. Both have City backgrounds - Paul at Lovells and Nicholson Graham & Jones, Peter at Freshfields. Together with their assistants, who also come from larger City firms, they have very considerable experience of wide-ranging "big ticket" commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation in England and overseas.

    • "Although small Marriott Harrison's litigation department has a sizeable reputation, carried far by favourable word of mouth. According to sources, "these guys go the extra mile" for their clients. Indeed, one user exclaimed: "I wouldn't switch if you paid me." In addition to handling work produced by the firm's long-standing ties with the entertainment industry, the two partners and their assistants advise on IP, breach of fiduciary duty and property disputes. The group is also carving a niche in the muli-jurisdictional disputes arena. Instructions of this nature include successfully representing Adams Land & Cattle in complex insurance litigation involving London and Nebraska courts.”- Chambers UK 2008
